And SAAS companies have been through quite the ride.
2020 was the year of startups, with new market opportunities presenting themselves as we shift the way we live. US cloud-based companies’ stocks are the highest they’ve ever been as businesses adapt to their entire workforce being at home. Workplace chat service, Slack has been sold to Salesforce for 27.7bn – showing just how much remote working has changed the landscape for SAAS companies.
But many have struggled as their core clients tighten their belts and look at ways to save costs.

For some SaaS businesses, recruitment is one of the last things they really think about. Yes, they want the right people in place but with business moving fast, it’s more important to get products shipped, to market those products, and to sell.
Even established companies are having to make redundancies to keep their heads above water. If you’re not hiring anyone, one of the first teams to go are the ones in charge of the hiring.
